人民网香港4月3日电 （记者陈然）缅甸近日发生强烈地震，造成严重伤亡。香港特区政府3日在香港国际机场举办捐赠仪式，将一批紧急救援物资赠予缅甸地震灾民。

香港特区政府政务司司长陈国基出席捐赠仪式，将物资移交缅甸驻港总领事，并随即安排付运当地，以解灾民燃眉之急。

陈国基表示，特区政府全力支援缅甸地震救灾赈灾工作，救援物资承载着香港对灾区的支持与祝福，并衷心希望当地人民渡过难关，早日恢复正常生活。特区政府会密切关注缅甸最新情况，以应当地需要提供进一步援助。

据了解，这批重逾20吨的救援物资由不同政府部门通力合作和协调，按灾区需求迅速征集，包括食物、饮用水、医疗包和临时居所物料等关键物资，部分由社会热心人士捐助。
