郭嘉昆表示,国际调解院的理念与习近平主席提出的全球治理倡议高度契合,奉行和解合作和谐、坚持公平公正公道、秉持共商共建共享、倡导以人为本、注重务实导向。
郭嘉昆说,今年5月30日,中共中央政治局委员、外交部长王毅出席在香港举行的国际调解院公约签署仪式并代表中国签署公约。公约于今年8月生效,现有37国签署,其中8国已批准公约。
“短短5个月内,国际调解院实现了公约签署、生效和开业运营,速度之快在国际组织建设史上不多见。”郭嘉昆说,这充分表明,建立国际调解院顺应时代潮流,受到了国际社会广泛支持和积极响应。
郭嘉昆表示,作为国际调解院的首倡国和东道国,中国欢迎更多国家早日加入国际调解院、与国际调解院开展密切合作,共同为促进世界和平与发展作出新的贡献。
